26 Random Bits of Info About Me

 

  • This is my 5th website but my 1st blog
  • I have two sons on Earth and at least one angel baby whom I never met, as well as two grown stepdaughters
  • I’m a recovering pack rat trying to transition to more minimal living
  • If I had the $15,000, I would use IVF/PGD to have a daughter of my own to complete our family
  • I can’t eat raw tomatoes without gagging forcefully but love tomato based products (ketchup, sauce, even stewed tomatoes!)
  • I met my husband when I ended up in a homeless shelter just after turning 18
  • My dream is to live in a self-sustainable home in the Maine woods
  • I’ve never lived more than 30 miles from my current home in Auburn, Maine
  • I’ve always wanted to travel the country in an RV with my children like “Promised Land”
  • I love taking pictures but have yet to be able to understand the technical side of photography
  • I have 2 sisters, 3 brothers and my father’s name is Mike Brady (no joke!)
  • My sons were born 9 1/2 years apart but are nearly identical!
  • I drink coffee for the taste, not the caffeine (still searching for a decent healthy decaf)
  • I’ve been growing, cutting and donating my hair to Locks Of Love since July 2003 with my longest donation being just over 19″ which took about 3 years to grow out…. (Update: Upon cutting to donate and subsequently dye my hair this summer, I learned of some controversy regarding Locks of Love and am currently searching for a new donation company to send my most recent ponytail.)
  • I have a collection of journals I have never written in
  • I remember my first panic attack in vivid detail, I was two years old
  • One day I would like to walk from Portland, Maine to Los Angeles, California and/or hike the entire Appalachian Trail
  • I’ve wanted to be a surrogate since before I was old enough to know it was a real possibility (gestational surrogacy only, using their eggs) after hearing about a family member’s struggle with infertility
  • I am petrified to swim in water I can’t see through to the bottom
  • There isn’t one religion that covers everything I believe, though I do consider myself a very spiritual person. 
  • I’ve always wanted to go on a tropical cruise (but am afraid to go through the Bermuda triangle)
  • I believe in Aliens (and the plausibility of *some* of the ancient astronaut theories)
  • I lived in 8 different homes (3 of them at least twice) before age 12, and 12 different places since I turned 18, ten of those with my husband.
  • I became a vegetarian for a year at 15 and have felt guilty that I enjoy the taste of meat every time I have eaten it since.
  • I’ve been allergic to sunscreen/sunblock since I was a small child, and actually burn worse when I use them vs when I don’t (and have the scars to prove it :/ )
  • If I hadn’t met my husband when I did, I’d probably be a single mama gypsy traveling the world with my child(ren)
